Message from the Principal
DC Ballet Academy is your ballet school of choice for dance students ages 3 to adult, beginners to pre-professionals. We offer a half day pre-professional ballet program for dedicated and talented students in addition to after-school and after-work classes for the general public. We are ideally located in Bedford to offer ballet classes to all of Perth.
Currently we serve local and regional students from: Dianella, Morley, Bedford, Bassendean, Woodbridge, Mt Hawthorne, Inglewood, Mt Lawley.
At DC Ballet Academy we believe that all students deserve the best education possible. We endeavour to equip our students with the knowledge and skills to develop good solid foundations in their early ballet training and exciting challenges as they advance their dance skills. Whether a student enjoys ballet as a hobby or has professional aspirations, at DC Ballet Academy we will help them reach their personal goals and full potential.
Our pre-professional ballet school has grown out of a mutual passion for dance, learning, growth and fun. We are now offering private classes for advanced/pre-professional dancers several times weekly as well as a complete schedule of courses - including beginner, pre-primary and primary levels.
Classes are held six days a week at our studio at 207 The Strand, Bedford, WA 6052 and classes are available for all of Perth. Inception of DC Ballet Academy established in 1990. Prior to opening in Bedford I operated a ballet school in Floreat for 10 years. I first trained in calisthenics and coached the State Team for several years.
I studied ballet under Dame Kira Bousloff (founder of the West Australian Ballet Company) and at the West Australian Academy Performing Arts. Debbie also studied and taught at The New York Conservatory od Dance under Vladimir Dokodovsky.
I also specialise in training calisthenics students in their chosen field as well as traditional ballet lessons.
The academy offers an exciting, unique and creatively driven programme for children that provides the very best in vocational and educational training. Our holistic approach ensures all students have a broad-based, comprehensive dance education, which equips them to pursue vocations, not only in ballet and the allied arts of dance, but in areas outside dance.
Exams are available to all students but are not compulsory.
